{"id":1540,"date":"2025-05-21T22:15:31","date_gmt":"2025-05-21T22:15:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nos.org.mx\/?post_type=el_manglito&#038;p=1540"},"modified":"2025-05-21T22:15:34","modified_gmt":"2025-05-21T22:15:34","slug":"pescadores-de-la-paz-apuestan-por-la-pesca-sostenible-para-aspirar-a-mercados-internacionales","status":"publish","type":"el_manglito","link":"https:\/\/nos.org.mx\/en\/el_manglito\/pescadores-de-la-paz-apuestan-por-la-pesca-sostenible-para-aspirar-a-mercados-internacionales\/","title":{"rendered":"La Paz fishermen bet on sustainable fishing to aspire to international markets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The members of the <strong>Fishermen's Organization Rescuing the Inlet<\/strong> (OPRE) have learned from their past and do not want to repeat it. <strong>fishing activity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the impetus of a <strong>Fishery Improvement Project<\/strong> (FIP), are seeking to certify their practices and add value to the fishery products. <strong>ax callus<\/strong>in order to gain access to <strong>international markets<\/strong> where sustainability is a prerequisite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ram\u00f3n Antonio \u00c1ngel M\u00e9ndez<\/strong>a member of <strong>OPRE<\/strong>said that the project is being supported by <strong>NOS Sustainable Northwest<\/strong> and the researcher <strong>V\u00edctor Gerardo Vargas L\u00f3pez<\/strong> who is a certified advisor, who has initiated training sessions with the <strong>fishermen<\/strong> to strengthen the practices already in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">\"The National Commission of Aquaculture and Fisheries (CONAPESCA) and the Mexican Institute for Research in Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture (IMIPAS) are notified that an evaluation is going to be made, it is finished, they give us a catch period and we start working. More than a decade ago, <strong>El Manglito<\/strong> experienced a harsh experience of overexploitation of species. Bad practices, including illegal ones, led to the degradation of <strong>La Paz Cove<\/strong> and the scarcity of species.
