In an effort to preserve and restore the marine ecosystems<\/strong>, The Guardians of the Conchalito<\/strong> have been working since 2009 in collaboration with NOS Sustainable Northeast<\/strong> in a significant shift towards blue economy<\/strong> and the sustainable fishing<\/strong> at La Paz Cove<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an interview for Millennium<\/strong>, Martha Garcia<\/strong>member of this all-female group, emphasized that since its founding, The Guardians of the Conchalito<\/strong> have focused their efforts on the restoration of marine ecosystems<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, he said, they are working on oyster production, with 150,000 oysters that will be ready for sale in six to eight months. This project not only contributes to the local economy, but also promotes sustainable fishing practices that are vital for the conservation of marine resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Work is already underway on the ax callus. Since September 2017, work began, after having been cared for and restored for more than six years,\" he explained.<\/mark><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martha Garc\u00eda highlighted the inclusion of women in these activities that have traditionally been dominated by men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"For generations it has been only for men and that today women can take charge of a project in this way makes us very proud,\" she said.<\/mark><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This transformation is permeating the new generations of women, as most of the daughters of Las Guardianas have chosen to study careers related to fisheries, marine biology, alternative tourism and technology, she noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martha Garc\u00eda emphasized the importance of involving young people in these projects, providing them with the necessary tools and knowledge to preserve natural resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"With the tools they can create by studying, and we give them the openness they deserve, (to) take care of and preserve what we love so much,\" he said.<\/mark><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stressed that the ultimate goal of The Guardians of the Conchalito <\/strong>is to achieve a blue economy that is circular, that is, an economy that lives off natural resources, ecotourism and sustainable fishing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this model, Las Guardianas has set itself the objective of reaching a blue economy<\/strong> that is circular, that not only gives them economic stability, but also helps in the conservation and sustainable exploitation of marine resources, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
